General
Electric Co, GE
Market Call™ for September 16, 1998
Contributed by Mark Seleznov, TrendTrader.com.
The purpose of this Market Call section is to educate
readers in technical analysis patterns and indicators. As
with all investment information, you need to research
information and consult your financial advisor before
initiating any strategies that are contained in Market
Call.
Also, you must realize that as with all trading
strategies, opinions can change quickly depending on
market conditions and developments.
Despite some strength in the Dow Jones Industrial
components, many Dow Jones Industrial stocks are now
struggling during this rally over the past few days.
General Electric, GE, is performing poorly, as compared
with the market over the past few weeks. Each attempt to
rally has been met with selling.
All indicators are still showing a continued downtrend in
GE. The stock is well below its 50 day moving average
line. The stock's momentum is negative. The MACD is still
on a Sell signal.
If we get a downturn in the market here, GE can lead the
market down.
I would consider a short here on GE.
I would place a stop at 80.
